History & What We Believe
Year Founded: 1955
We are a local body of believers in Jesus Christ who share a common love for the Lord Jesus and seek to serve Him in all ways. We are a Bible believing and Bible preaching church that believes the Bible is God's Word, inspired, infallible, and inerrant.
As an independent local body of believers Northside has chosen to associate itself with the Southern Baptist Convention in order to expand our missionary reach in the world. As part of this association we have adopted "The Baptist Faith and Message" as our statement of faith.
Southern Baptist Convention's Baptist Faith & Message
Currently Springfield's largest Southern Baptist Church, Northside is located in the northern sector of the city. Our people are friendly and welcome people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. In 2005 God blessed us with a new sanctuary which will seat up up 450 people. We have an active youth ministry that encourages Christian young people to grow in Christ and reach out to the lost. Our ultimate goal is to reach Springfield and the surrounding areas with the message of Jesus Christ. Our motto is "New Beginnings in Christ."
Members of Northside have chosen to join together in Christian unity to serve Jesus Christ and to obey His commandments. In order to articulate this unity we have developed a written covenant.
